If you or your operators have questions, make sure to utilize our new R&S Precision Farming Hotline. You can call or text us at 920-264-0332 for access to our team of Precision Farming Specialists. You can also install the AgriSync App on your smartphone, and we can chat back and forth (search for Riesterer & Schnell in the Directory). From the app, you can send us pictures or videos of your specific issue so we can get you going faster. We have individuals on our team dedicated to this line every day of the week, including weekends during the growing season. NEW 4240 DISPLAY
You may recall from Eric’s article in our last newsletter that John Deere has come out with a new entry-level display. It has the same screen layout and easy operation of its bigger siblings, the 4640 and the 4600 Command Center. It’s approved for open station equipment (including UTVs). So, if you are looking for a display that you can put into your Gator for mapping boundaries or in your open station tractor for spreading fertilizer, you now have a great option. Also, with John Deere’s programs going on right now, if you have a 2600 or 2630, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how little you will have to spend to upgrade to the latest technology.
NEW ATU 300
The new ATU 300 is an upgrade to the popular ATU 200. They are now outdoor rated as well so you can pair this with the 4240 to add guidance to your open station equipment. They are quieter than their predecessor and include an auto-calibration feature making it easier to switch between multiple machines and still get strong performance.
GEN 4 DISPLAY SOFTWARE UPDATES
There were significant improvements for Gen 4 displays delivered via software updates in 2018. I’m excited that we can now simultaneously view maps of multiple layers. For example, you can set up a homepage to see maps of your Seeding Rate, Variety, and Fertilizer Rates. Add an extended display and you can monitor performance on it while you interact with your planter on the main display, giving you visual proof that all your products are applied correctly. We can now create Flags and document the operator, weather and field conditions. If you have JDLink, these new updates are available over the air - just go to the Software Manager on your display and click on Check for Updates. If you prefer, you can still have us come out and install the updates for you before spring.
DATASTAR HUB
Speaking of JDLink, our new DataStar hub is now orderable for spring. The DataStar Hub allows you to put a portable JDLink solution complete with Wireless Data Transfer in multiple machines. Pay one low upfront price for the package that includes a 4G modem, harnessing, and five years of Wireless Data Transfer. With current promotions from John Deere, you will pay only $500 per year. All you need to have is a compatible display – it includes everything else you will need.
