great machine

5/5

The 590E lives up too my expectation in all but 2 areas. 1 when loading the Gator into the bed of my pickup the clutch has a jerky engagement, I am in low 4x4 lock and the ramps are chained to the bed of the truck, But it still is touch and go up the ramps. 2 I have the JD hard top , doors that latch ( seem a little flimsy ) and canvas rear panel. The rear panel is the problem, it lets a lot of dirt and dust into the cab area. My wife and I just finished going 270 miles in the Gator on dirt trails and if I didn't have a towel to stuff in the gap I would have been doing it by myself. I can't believe this design was ever approved by JD. It flat sucks and you can take that literately. I can't believe that I am the only one to ever say anything about its poor design unless I am the only one that has purchased one. Other than these two item I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy it again, but will look around for a better rear panel or bring lots of towels!!!

Pros

  • all around performance is great
  • clutch engagment and rear panel
