Great mower!

5/5

Deere has never stopped impressing me. Years ago I had a LX173, gear drive, then a LX277 hydro, then a X350. I decided to get a X570, 54", I have never been so pleased with a mower.

Overall quality of the X570 is very good.

5/5

I have no complaints with the quality, capability, power, or the mower deck of this tractor. I particularly like the Kawasaki v-twin 24 hp engine, smooth running with plenty of torque when a load is put on it. Additionally, the differental Lock gives this tractor a benefit which comes in handy for a two-wheel drive mower. I live in, and use this tractor in Southern California almost entirely for mowing of annual grasses and weed and brush species of many types, some with stalks of approximatey 1 inch diameter or more, it handles the challenge with ease. I have one "beef" with John Deere regarding accessories, in particular the available Sun Shade. I would very much like to meet the JD engineer who designed this magnificent piece of work and have him try to assemble the canvas shade onto the tubular frame in my presence! If there's a trick to getting the frame and canvas mated-up (and apparently there is) the technical writers forgot to include that little tid-bit of information in the instructions. I found it impossible to assemble it per the instructions without making major modifications.

Exceeded expectations

5/5

I have 3 acres of yard with 150 mature oak trees. I’ve always wanted a John Deere mower as all of my other equipment is John Deere. I purchased a D170 in 2015. I then purchased a Cyclone Rake to pick up all of the oak leaves in the fall it was obvious right away that the D170 could not handle the Cyclone Rake when it got over half full. I went back and purchased an X380 with a 54” deck in 2016. The Excel Deep deck mows much better than the Edge deck on the D170. My wife used the D170 just to mow. The X380 handled the Cyclone Rake fine but did struggle to back it up when full and can lose traction when trying to empty it. I ended up selling the D170 this year to my father-in-law and decided to purchase the X570 with a 54” deck. It’s every bit as good as the X380, but with the K72 transmission, it has no trouble with the Cyclone Rake even packed full of wet grass clippings and the traction assist is a big help when emptying. Now I know to spend the money and get the right tool for the job. With the X380 and now the X570, we can complete our mowing in about an hour and a half a week.

Pros

  • lots of usable power.

Cons

  • none found yet.

Pleased with the product

4/5

I mow 3 1/2 acres of all hill twice a month in the summer with no problems. The X570 handles well and has exceeded my expectations on the hills. I also use it to haul gravel to maintain our private road.My only regret is that I didn't purchase the 700 series so that I could plow in the winter months. I am very pleased with this product

Pros

  • works great on steep hills
  • locking rear axle gets you out of tough terrain
  • 54" deck shortened time cutting lawn
  • fairly easy to maintain

Cons

  • cup holder is on chute side
  • battery was not secured very well
  • took the dealer a few tries to level deck

Excellent mower and garden tractor

5/5

I bought this tractor during the recent promotion in mid-October as a replacement for my 27 year old JD 260. I am very pleased I got the X570. The 54 inch mower deck is far superior to my old deck in providing a clean cut and it is also 10 inches wider than my old one so I am cutting my 2.5 acres of lawn much faster than before. The turning circle is excellent - I believe it is tighter than the models with power steering and 4 wheel drive, yet the X570 steering is very easy and comfortable. The hydrostatic drive combined with this tight circle makes it much easier to mow around the many trees and bushes in my yard compared to my old gear driven 260. I have used the tractor to pull several implements including a 48 inch JD aerator, a seed/fertilizer spreader, a lawn sweeper and a utility cart. The tractor has ample power to pull these (including the aerator carrying 250 lb weights), including pulling them up several moderately steep slopes in my yard. The traction assist has been handy on a couple of occasions when one wheel was spinning in mud and/or caught in a depression. Overall the tractor is very easy and comfortable to operate with clearly marked and well positioned controls. I did find that the mower deck height control was out of adjustment, but it was straightforward to adjust this using the instructions in the user manual (I also bought the blade height leveling gauge to confirm the blades were at the right height). I passed the 8 hour mark a couple of weeks ago and the oil change was easy based on the convenient position of the oil drain and filter (but do spend the few bucks on the JD filter removal tool). I got the "deluxe" seat cover and brush guard which are nice accessories. Overall I highly recommend the X570.

Pros

  • good cut
  • tight turning circle
  • easy steering
  • easy to operate
  • comfortable
  • good for pulling implements
  • reduces time to mow lawn

Cons

  • none

Fast, efficient, fun!

5/5

I have a coffee farm and need to mow in-between rows and also have several large areas of grass that grows really fast here in Hawaii. I needed a good mower that was stable and had a big deck. This x570 exceeded my expectations. Since I have slopes and some steep areas people told me i needed 4-wheel drive but the traction drive lock works great and I have used it when I start to slip and once the pedal is down the traction is super strong. I can't believe the power of this mower and I'm amazed at how fast and efficiently it cuts. I like everything about this tractor and would highly recommend it.

$7500 wasted

1/5

First i've own about 6 JD mowers and I bought this one about 10 years ago and it's been nothing but a pain and an bottomless pit of expenses. The deck bracket breaks every couple of years as it cheap and appears to be made from pot metal but they still charge $60 for it in fact I'm here to find the part number as it's broke again, the hydrostat transmission get out of adjustment and will barely back up until you adjust it and, the hood is poorly mounted and if you don't baby it you'll break it. There is no strainer for the gas like there use to be to keep trash out, guess that $2 part is too expensive for them to add. The cup hold is on the wrong side and any drink gets full if grass from the discharge and overall the general quality is poor as I'm sure me records would reflect at least $1000-$1500 in repairs or parts on this mower alone. This will be the last John Deere mower I buy as they are not the quality they use to be.

Pros

  • dealer stocks parts

Cons

  • poorly made
  • expensive parts
  • low quality

A very appropriate GT225 replacement...

5/5

The new X570 with a 54" Deep Accel mowing deck arrived last week. All I can report on is my initial impressions so far with less than 3.0 hours on the machine. Build quality is first class... and the mowing deck does a superb job of delivering a smooth cut. Power from the Kawasaki built V-twin 24 h.p. engine is impressive to say the least. My dealer (MS Ag) and their sales representative took exemplary care of me in the buying and delivery process... MS Ag's customer service was quite impressive. Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of the X570 to date. However, I will re-visit this review to provide more experience with John Deere's X570 tractor and Deep Accel mowing deck at a later date when more hours are on the machine. Photos are showing the new X570 during the John Deere dealer's delivery of it last week...

Pros

  • size
  • power
  • quality of mowing cut
  • quality of build
  • dealership experience
  • ease of use in hilly terrain
  • information in digital display is useful

Cons

  • none so far
