love the way it rides

5/5

I bought this about a month ago and love mowing the lawn with it. I upgraded fro a JD 105 42 in deck to a X380 54 in deck. It took me 2.5 hours to mow it now takes me just over a hour. It really cut down how many times I have to mow a area. It does go through a bit more gas but i'm ok with that the ride makes up for it. Thank you Hudson tractor for all your help.

Great mower!

5/5

I Have had this tractor for 2 years now and it has done a fantastic job so far with no problems. The only drawback is that the seat is starting to crack already and it is kept completely out of the weather when its not in use

Great mower

5/5

Got my X380 from Cazenovia Equip in Lowville NY. Great staff that listens to their customers' needs and answers all questions. We mow and roll approx. 2 acres. A few years ago before we built our house, our yard was a pasture / meadow, so far from being a manicured lawn. Box store mowers got beat up in no time. Cast iron axle is durable. HP and beefier build helps with terrain and hills. This is my third mower in the few years we've lived in our house and you know what "right" feels like when you finally get it right.

Poorest Cut

1/5

I’ve owned a John Deere x320 for 7 years. I decided to move up to a x380. I was sadly disappointed by the uneven cut of this mower even after adjusting the blades with a micrometer. I hope I can get the dealer to fix it. One promblem is I’m 230 miles from the nearest dealer.

So far so good

5/5

Bought this tractor last July when the frame broke, for the second time, on a 2 year old 54" Husqvarna, not to mention the belt popping off every mow. We also lost the tranny on a 54" Cub Cadet after 3 1/2 years. We mow 2 acres of gently sloped and slightly rough ground. Unless your ground is smooth and flat I wouldn't recommend buying those tractors at Home Depot or Lowe's. The X380 though seems to be pretty tough. We haven't had an issue yet. The mulching feature is fantastic. and the bagging system with the pony motor cuts and bags anything, wet or dry.

Excellent tractor. Handles any job I throw at it. Cuts grass with ease even the tall, thick and wet stuff. Looking forward to using it in the winter. Would definitely recommend.

Really awesome mowing tractor. But removing the deck is very difficult

3/5

Have had my New X380 54 inch deck for almost a month and a half. It mows great. I mow over 6 hours a week, and most of it is hilly farm land, not a nice smooth lawn. I would rate this the best mower on the market. However, I hit a limb that was hidden in the high grass, and it ripped one of the plastic shields over a spindle. To install the new cover, I had to remove the deck, but having had a John Deere for over 21 years, I knew it would be easy to do. Wrong!!! The simple long lever that would release the tension on the drive belt is not there. Instead you need to have a 3/8 inch ratchet. I have had 3, 3/8 inc ratchets. I broke one years ago, and two of my sons broke the other two. No problem it is only a 30 minute drive each way to a Lowe's to get one. After trying to push the ratchet forward laying on my side, I could not push hard enough. I slipped a 2 foot pipe on the ratchet and was able to push it to relieve the tension. However, laying on my side, I could not do that and slip the belt off the drive wheel. I had to wait until the next day until my son could come over and help me. The next day, we removed the drive belt. Woo HOO! Our joy was short lived though. Next to come off were the "J" pins that hold the deck to the arms that raise and lower it. I have seen John Deere Videos where a little girl removes these "J" pins by reaching down with her fingers. We followed the instructions in the manual to the letter. We could not get these stubborn pins out. I finally used the biggest screw driver I own and could not pry that "J" pin out. I scratched up my deck pretty good though. . So back to yanking and pulling for several hours. Finally one came out. And I saw the problem. Some Engineer designed the "J" pin with a raised ring around the short end. That ring made it almost impossible to get out. And back in. I also saw when I had the deck off that the long belt that drives the blades was badly frayed, and will need replacing soon.

Best lawn tractor ever

Mows like a dream...very solid. Over sized turf tires doesn't track up the yard like my old mower did. C Very small turning radius for larger mower. Very happy with my purchase!!!

Recommend this mower

5/5

I bought this mower in January 2016 and it sat in the barn until mowing season. My dad retro-fitted an old John Deere snow blade for the front of this mower but it could not handle the 31 inches of snow we got in one day. I tried to get it out of the barn with about 6 inches on the ground and it did not matter that I had chains on the tires, the snow was just too deep. When it warmed up I was able to start mowing my 4 acre lot that is pretty much all hills. This mower does a fantastic job. I used to fight with an old Craftsmen 42" deck and it would shut off every few minutes. This mower just keeps on going. The 54" mower deck helps cut my mowing time down and I can actually cut all 4 acres. It used to take me two hours to do about 2 acres, maybe less. Now I do all 4 acres in a little over 2 hours. I am also able to haul firewood around the property up steep inclines with a cart on the back and this mower has no problem. Maintenance is easy. It would be nice if the mowing speed was a little faster but overall this is a product I would recommend to anyone with a decent-sized lot to mow on a budget.

Outstanding Product

5/5

Purchased the 380 this spring and have never looked back. Dealer came to my home before I decided on the 380. We reviewed my needs and this tractor met them all. With close to an acre with a steep incline in the back I have no issues to speak off. Handles the cutting better than anything I've owned and strong enough to pull all of my attachments. Very pleased!

  • excellent cut
  • strong transmission
  • ease of use
