We bought our first house this year and decided we need a good quality lawnmower. We purchased from Cazenovia Equipment locally in upstate New York where we live. Only complaint is that we didn’t look the unit over well enough and there was scraping along side the mower deck and along side the hood next to the hydrostatic pedals. Wish we looked it over better honestly! We would have picked another unit or asked for a discount due to the minor damage. Other then that we will be John Deere costumers for life!

My old JD 316 gave it up after 32 years. Almost bought a zero turn mower, like everyone else seems to do. Instead I opted for the X350, largely due to the Kawasaki engine. Very glad to have a conventional mower with steering wheel and the ability to pull the 10p cart. With the 48" deck I can knock out a lot of grass in one hour. Love the new dash, too!

X350 with 48” deck, Kawasaki motor and K46 transmission and mulch kit. Cuts well, easy to use but a lot of safety functions (good but cumbersome). Rides well with pretty tight turns and cast iron front axle. After an hour of mowing transmission is only at 130* F- we have some pretty steep culverts lining our 1/2 acre, but no issues getting up them in forward or reverse. Safety seat and PTO shutoff when in reverse (press button to mow in reverse) is common place now, but still a little annoying. Easy access to zerks, nice flat mower deck with little accumulated clippings while mowing (as expected with mulching). 4 star rating is solely due to non-serviceable tranny and safety buttons/seat that add extra steps while mowing. All of which are commonplace nowadays. Mower starts up quickly, no mess on or under deck after mowing, easy steering, easy deck detachment. I recommend getting the bumper to protect the plastic hood (plastic hood is to protect engine from rust from dropping into it- which is not an issue in TX). Mulching blades don’t side discharge well of course, so it did bog down with 3ft tall grass (again, not the designed usage for mulching blades). I’m tall enough to use my foot to open/close mulching gate while seated, which is nice. It’s a good little tractor and foresee many seasons and easy servicing

I was in the market for a tractor after my lawn service became unreliable. I have 1&1/2 acres with a combination of flat areas as well as hills and slopes. The big box store products are not for me. After researching I decided on John Deere and visited my local dealer. ( Adams Power Equipment. Poughkeepsie, NY ) After discussing my needs they suggested the X350. They were running an in house discount plus the Deere discount the day I visited. This unit also had the Kawasaki engine and a 4 year warranty well surpassing the competition. Due to the great price I added the push button Mulch Kit and a brush guard. They did the prep as well as installing the options and delivered it within a week. The delivery driver explained the operation clearly. I have used it several times now and could not be happier. It cuts clean and evenly. It tackles the hills and slopes with out any issues. Traction is good and it feels like a piece of professional heavy equipment not the lighter units from the box store. The push button mulching works great and was well worth the money spent. I can cover me entire yard in an hour and will get shorter as I figure out different patterns. I plan on buying the pull behind detacher and spreader in the fall. If you want a great tractor I would highly recommend this product. Thank you to Adams Power Equipment for your great service as well as John Deere.

I just read the gentleman from Indiana's review and it is identical to my situation. My x350 lawn mower has been in the shop at least 4 or times now since buying it in early 2017 and they still can't find anything wrong. We have put on new blades, checked air pressure, leveled it about 4 or 5 times and all it does is leaves stripes and does not lift the grass. My previous D110 cut perfect but buying a house with an acre of land, I needed something bigger. I have supported John Deere for years and this lawnmower has been one of the worst purchases that I have ever made at a price tag of $3500, extremely disappointed. The one good thing I have to say is that there Manager at Lakeland, Eric is on top of things and after it going back again at the end of fall, he told me if this x350 is still cutting stripes and leaving uncut patches everywhere this spring, he is going to come to the house to see it for himself. This is the one bright spot and this is why I am trying to get this resolved because I really like everyone over at Lakeland in Brockport, NY and they have always been great to me. It's not there fault, this is a Manufacturer defect. I really hope John Deere is paying attention to these reviews do something about it.

Bought almost one year ago. Tractor is just what I thought it would be. I had a GT235 for 12 years and it looked like a new one when I sold it last year. Thought I was moving to a small yard. Wrong!! I now have a 1 acre yard. This takes about 45 minutes to cut. Runs smooth and does all it was meant to. Bought a manual mulch kit for it and i'm glad I did. It is alway windy here. I expect this will be as good as my last tractor. All of my families have bought JD tractors for our lawns and never had a bad one. Love this new one I have now. a great tractor!!!!!

I purchased an X350 w/ a 48" mulching deck the Spring of 2016. I would first state that this mower runs fine and has a sound engine which i would give 4 stars. What I am very upset about is the cut quality which i would give ONE STAR. No matter how fast I drive or what kind of grass I cut, it leaves lines and patches of grass everywhere. The worst areas are around turns, but it doesn't lift the grass up even on the straights in the center of the deck and on the tire tracks. I have contacted my John Deere dealer multiple times and all they tried to do was put different blades on the mower which did not solve anything. Eventually, they said they would report it to John Deere and I have never heard anything back since. If i would have known this mower cut this bad for the price I paid, I would have definitely went with something else.

This tractor is a great value for the money. Traded in a Cub Cadet that was 12 years old. The quality of the JD is far SUPERIOR than anything I have looked at. The dealership Bud Herbert Motors was excellent to work with and I would highly recommend them. When tractor was delivered they went over everything on tractor and made sure I had no questions and was comfortable with it.

For about the past 5yrs. I have been looking at possible replacements for my '96 LX176 w/44" piranha deck. I did a fair amount of research and decided on the 350 w/48 deck and mulching kit. I had to return it after the first use because the right blade struck the fixed portion of the mulching kit upon the first engagement and it mowed poorly. Got it back with new blades on it and it seems better, but the lack of directional striping is a downer. I believe that a striping kit is available, but maybe it needs to be standard in order for visual satisfaction. The option to switch to side discharge is one that I don't plan on using so I wish there was a nice cover to go in place of the enormous chute. I agree with a previous post about the deck being difficult to remove as well. Traction doesn't seem to be an issue but the small tires make the tractor look cheap. At this point I am not sure that I will keep it or exercise the John Deere Promise and return it.

I used an LX tractor for 20 years and loved it, but finally sold it and purchased this X tractor about 2 years ago. I maintain 2 acres of lawn, steep hills, and multiple trees. Also, I'm a large heavy guy.. .and I have a tendency to use the tractor/mower to trim buckthorn that grows in the woods. In short, this tractor sees heavy use (pun intended). The engine has very sufficient power for hills and mowing buckthorn and tall grass. It runs fine on regular unleaded gas - using about 1 gallon/acre. All operation is smooth from the parking brake, transmission, steering, etc. Changing oil, filter, plugs, and air cleaner is not hard to do. I mail order OEM products for this purpose. I purchased two sets of blades and that worked fine too. However, changing blades on this beast is much more difficult than on my prior LX tractor with it's 48" deck. The mounting on this X tractor is more difficult to release and wrestling the heavy desk out from underneath the tractor is not for the faint of heart. If I ever buy another tractor (this one will probably last for a real long time) I will certainly ask the salesman to DEMONSTRATE removing and reattaching the mowing deck!! Once the deck is out, it has to be flipped to do a through cleanout and blade exchange....this is not easy as the quality built deck is heavy. Difficulty in changing the three mowing blades is the ONLY reason this review suggests 4 stars rather than 5. The design could have been better. All other service of the tractor (lube, blade leveling, etc) goes smoothly and the user manual is excellent. I'm very delighted with this purchase, it has served me well for several years and I'm expecting a nice long lifetime out of this tractor also!

I love my new X350 48" mower. Was a present from my husband as I was push mowing over an acaer of land each week and most of it was up hill. Was taking me an hour and a half to mow once a week and now I can mow in less than an hour. I love the mulching blades, I don't have to rack the yard of big clumps of grass that the push mower was leaving behind. I would recommend this mower for anyone. It turns very nicely and I can get very close to edges of the trees and house making any weed eating much less than when I was using the push mower or our large Kabota tractor to mow. The sales man was also very patient and informative when he was showing me all the features and how to properly take care of the tractor. Love it.
