Great mower. The mulch control is great.

5/5

I cannot believe how smooth and quiet this is compared to the 100 series. The electric mulch control is a must have.

Deck Quality

4/5

Purchased the machine used with just 88hrs. I got a great price because the owner was very upset at the quality of the mower and the terrible service from local dealership. He had to spend 400$ to replace both spindles on the deck. Dealer claimed they were dry and not lubricated. It had less than 80hrs when they replaced them. Should spindles even need greased before 80hrs of use? The deck has also ripped behind the chute and behind the right spindle. Deck didn’t look like it had been abused for it to get ripped. His property did look like it was rough/ not established or smoothed out. I’d expected a little better deck durability for a 3000$ machine. I paid 450$ and can get a brand new deck for 700$ so less than 1300$ for the mower is a pretty good deal. Only one complaint from me. The forward, reverse and brake pedal are on the same side. Normally not a issue unless loading into the truck bed when you need to apply brakes immediately. I’d prefer the ability for two pedal operation.

Pros

Cons

  • go pedal and brake pedal are on thr same side

A fine mowerl that exceeded the challenge and accomplished the job!

5/5

I live in a hilly area and a riding mower is put to the challenge on my terrain. The X 330 I purchased from Hutson John Deere of Russellville, Kentucky has met the challenge and actually exceeded my expectations. The mower is comfortable riding, quiet, powerful and very smooth operating while providing a great cut to the grass. I would recommend this mower to anyone who is looking for a QUALITY mower that will get the job done quickly, efficiently, safely and provide many years of service!

Pros

  • great value smooth operation and quiet!
  • powerful and provides an excellent cut.
  • fuel efficient and makes cutting grass enjoyable!

Awesome mower

5/5

This is the first John Deere mower I have owned. This thing is Awesome. I bought it now a year and a couple weeks ago. I mowed with it all spring, summer, and fall. I have now blown snow with it all winter. No problems or regrets. It has plenty of power. I would recommend this mower to any one. I currently have 145hrs. on it and still running strong. Now thinking or trading up to a 380. The spring assist is very helpful when the 44inch blower is attached. I love this unit. Thinking now after a year I might need or like the 48inch deck better. Great job John Deere. Job well done. I do not have one complaint.

Not recommended

2/5

Pros: Turns nice, cuts lawn evenly, relatively fast machine Cons: It on a grade it slides or doesn't make it up the hill. Has to have someone under 200 pounds on the unit or it will slide, doesn't have the guts for a $3000 unit Attachments: The snow blower is virtually useless. I have a flat driveway, even with chains and 100 pounds of extra weight the unit slides, get stuck or cannot do the job. If it is wet snow I honestly have to pull out my old snowblower to do the job. Overall: Not recommended.

purchased my johm deere in 2012 no problems to date I give it the best care for it runs all year round.i live in the northeast so snow in the winter and grass in the summer.only the mice get into the shade I use moth balls and poison to keep them away they ate the wires.also I installed a fuel cut off valve and I stabilizer the gas I also buy from stwards gas no alcohol in the hi test.finely I wash the deck at end off season and spray with undercoating.plus it halled dirt last summer to my leach field all day long no problem with the starter or transmission. its a work horse.the heavy duty trans makes the difference with the Kawasaki engine best buy for the money

It's much bigger than my old STX38

4/5

The 21 year old STX38 had to be replaced. It was looking to get $1000-1500 in repair costs so I decided to upgrade to a new one. The smaller JD lawn mowers are now all BIg Box store quality (junk) so I moved up to the x330. This is a mighty fine lawn tractor/mower. The electronic gauges are nice and it mows fine. It's so big I had to rearrange my garage and give a few things away to fit it in. If I had a larger yard, I would probably love this new machine. I wish that JD still made something in the size and quality of the STX38.

Fantastic value for cost

5/5

This is my second John Deere--upgraded from 2006 155C. The X330 is a tremendous mower--plenty of power, very easy to steer, and starts immediately! I highly recommend this product-- you will not be sorry to spend the extra dollars to move up to this model from the 100 series or the S240.

Pros

  • performance
  • steering
  • smooth cut--no clumps
